Gulf Times Report 25th January 2009: INDIAN healthcare group KIMS has launched its third project in GCC countries by opening a polyclinic, KIMS Qatar Medical Centre at Wakrah, an official said yesterday. The new venture is run by a partnership between Coastal Healthcare Management, Doha and KIMS Hospital Group, Thiruvananthapuram, India.
KIMS Qatar Medical Centre (KQMC) will initially offer services in orthopedics, gynecology and ENT. The present medical team consists of specialists Dr Praveen Kumar Pande (orthopedic surgery), Dr Jyoti Pande (obstetrics & gynecology) and Dr.Sajith Kumar V I (ENT), all with vast experience in providing medical care in India and various countries. The paramedical services available initially are audiology and speech therapy and physiotherapy. In two months’ time, doctors are to join the departments of pediatrics, dentistry, internal medicine and dermatology. A clinical laboratory, X-Ray and pharmacy will also be commissioned soon in the same complex. Tie-ups with major insurance companies are in the process as to enable cashless transactions for insurance card holders.
KIMS have been accredited by Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International both in India and Bahrain and has tied up with Quality Healthcare Australia for assuring international quality standards for all its GCC ventures. The management team of KQMC consists of chairman Mubarak Jassim al-Khater, KIMS chairman Dr. M I Sahadulla, KIMS GCC managing director Dr. M A Mohamed, Gulf-based businessman P Abdul Rasheed, and KQMC executive director and reputed businessman in GCC and Coastal Healthcare Management representative Azeemuddin K .K. “The KIMS group also has plans to expand its presence in Qatar by starting additional clinics and a multi-specialty hospital,” the official added
